Whatever you think about the current obsession with the Jeffrey Epstein files and what they might reveal about Donald Trump (my opinion is that we have far more consequential issues demanding our attention these days) – one thing appears clear:
We seem to have a president who, at an age when most men are long past childish vulgarity, thought it would be funny to send the morally bankrupt Epstein a bawdy birthday card with his scrawled signature in the pubic region of the rough outline of a naked woman. Trump was 56 at the time, 13 years away from becoming president. Picture George Washington doing something that sophomoric. Or John Adams. Or, actually, any previous president.
