LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Release the hounds!

LakewoodAlive’s 18th annual Spooky Pooch Parade takes place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at Madison Park.

The family-friendly affair consists of a free-to-attend festival in Madison Park, a parade (which doubles as a costume contest) through Lakewood’s Birdtown neighborhood and an awards presentation.

A favorite fall tradition for Northeast Ohio dog lovers, this community festival represents a one-of-a-kind event within the region, providing a tail-wagging good time for canine and human guests alike who can enjoy entertainment, pumpkin painting, food trucks and dog-related vendors and local businesses.

The event itself is free to attend, but registration is required to march in the parade.

#StatzStrong: Last school year, Olmsted Falls City Schools second-grade teacher Anne Statz was diagnosed with cancer.

To show their love & support, her coworkers are proudly wearing purple and are #StatzStrong during her fight.

The Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Township communities are invited to show their support by ordering a #StatzStrong t-shirt.

Olmsted Falls/Township Community Yard Charge: It’s that time of year again for the Olmsted Falls/Township Community Yard Charge.

The annual affair finds youth groups going out in community raking senior citizens leaves.

On Nov. 8, members of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Key Club, Environmental Club, Student Council and Builders Club will be making the rounds.

The program accepts a limited number of addresses.
