CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — Avonlea’s famous adoption mix-up of Anne Shirley will be on full display this weekend (Nov. 6-9) at Chagrin Falls High School’s Blackbox Theatre as the Academy of Performing Arts presents Anne of Green Gables.

The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A matinee performance on Sunday at 2 p.m. will close the adaptation of the famous novel’s play run.

Chagrin Falls High School Artistic Director of the Academy for the Performing Arts, Dan Hendrock, chose the production of Anne of Green Gables because of its classic status.

“After the success of Little Women, I wanted to do another classic that would be fun and educational for the students, and Anne of Green Gables fit the bill,” Hendrock said.

Since early September, thirty-five Chagrin Falls Students have been part of the cast and crew that have been building custom sets and memorizing lines.

The cast includes Marie Cain as Anne Shirley, Claire Hoelzel as Marilla Cuthbert, Milo Quintin as Matthew Cuthbert, Margaux Verdier as Diana Barry, Westley Quintin as Gilbert Blythe, and Demiel Snyder as Rachel Lynde.

Tickets for the production are available online through the Chagrin Falls Schools website at https://cur8.com/40030/project/134996.
