CLEVELAND, Ohio — Kirtland’s bid for a ninth straight trip to the OHSAA state football finals takes shape Friday at Rogers Field, when it plays host to Wickliffe.
This will be the second time they have met this season, following the Hornets’ 42-0 win in Week 6 on the road in the Chagrin Valley Conference. At the time, they ended the Blue Devils’ perfect start to the season, but coach Marce Porcello has a young squad, led by freshman running back Ethan Fitch (1,118 yards, 13 touchdowns) and junior linebacker Nick Oboczky (80 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five sacks).
