CLEVELAND, Ohio — A freeze warning remains in effect early Saturday across much of Northeast Ohio as temperatures dipped to near 30 degrees, marking one of the season’s first widespread freezes, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
NWS said sub-freezing temperatures could last through 9 a.m. Saturday, potentially damaging or killing unprotected crops and other sensitive vegetation. Outdoor plumbing and irrigation systems may also be at risk.
The warning affects cities including Avon Lake, Brunswick, Lorain, Medina, Sandusky and more. Residents are urged to cover plants, bring potted flowers indoors and disconnect garden hoses to prevent freezing damage.
