Probable starting pitchers and starting times: RHP Slade Cecconi (4-4, 344) vs. LHP JP Sears (7-7, 4.79) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; LHP Logan Allen (6-7, 4.00) vs. RHP Luis Severino (2-11, 5.16) Saturday at 7:10 p.m. and RHP Gavin Williams (5-4, 3.70) vs. LHP Jeffrey Springs (8-6, 3.93) Sunday at 1:40 p.m.
Series: Guardians lead, 2-1, this year. Guardians lead, 1,056-926, overall.
A’s update (41-57): They won three of their last four games going into the break. Springs dominated the Guards on June 20 in Sacramento, holding them to one run in 7 1/3 innings in a 5-0 win. Sears lost to them on June 22. The A’s have power with All-Star Brent Rooker with 20 homers, Tyler Soderstrom with 18 and rookie Nick Kurtz with 17.
Guardians update (46-49): They entered the break having won six of their last seven games following a 10-game losing streak. Cecconi threw seven scoreless innings against the A’s on June 22 in a 3-0 win. Emmanuel Clase registered two saves against the A’s in that series. All-Stars Steven Kwan .462 (6 for 13) and Jose Ramirez .417 (5 for 12) are hitting well against the A’s this year.

A’s: RHP Grant Holman (right shoulder), LHP Ken Waldichuk (left elbow), RHP Gunnar Heglund (right hip), LHP Brady Basso (left shoulder), RHP Jose Leclerc (right lat) and RHP Luis Medina (right elbow) are on the injured list.
Guardians: RHP Paul Sewald (right shoulder), OF Lane Thomas (plantar fasciitis), INF Gabriel Arias (left ankle), RHP Andrew Walters (right lat), OF Will Brennan (right elbow), RHP Ben Lively (right elbow), RHP Trevor Stephan (right elbow), RHP Shane Bieber (right elbow), LHP John Means (left elbow) and LHP Sam Hentges (left shoulder) are on the injured list.
