CLEVELAND, Ohio — MetroHealth System will stop providing part-time, on-site clinical services by March 1 at the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland’s Gordon Square location, the two organizations recently announced.
The primary care team who served patients at Gordon Square will now see patients at MetroHealth’s Brooklyn Health Center. As a result, Pride Network patients — or those seeking health services for LGBTQ patients — do not need to change healthcare providers, MetroHealth said.
The Brooklyn location offers several other services, including behavioral health care and an on-site pharmacy.
The end of services at the Gordon Square location is not an overall reduction in MetroHealth’s healthcare services to the LGBTQ+ community, the health system said.
“MetroHealth, which launched the region’s first Pride Clinic nearly 20 years ago, remains committed to compassionate, inclusive care for every member of the LGBTQ+ community,” the health system said.
Here are other additions to MetroHealth’s Pride Network:
- A new Pride Clinic, which offers health services for LGBTQ patients, at MetroHealth’s West Park Health Center.
- Pride Clinic services’ planned expansion at MetroHealth’s clinics in Brooklyn, Brecksville and Cleveland Heights.
- MetroHealth planned partnership with the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland to offer mobile medical and dental services.
- Introduction of an advocate at the Center on Feb. 23 to help community members schedule appointments and navigate services.
