Reckless driving, York Road: On Oct. 27, police observed a 2012 Hyundai traveling 65 mph in a 35-mph zone of York Road.

The vehicle took off traveling at high speeds, which caused the officer to cancel the pursuit due to safety.

However, another officer clocked the Hyundai traveling 113 mph before later being located on Elmwood Oval.

When told of the speed, the Brook Park driver said, “I don’t think I was.”

After exiting the vehicle, which had a license plate lying flat, adjacent to the back window, the man became agitated because the officer wouldn’t roll up his car window due to the rain.

The driver was arrested for failure to comply, reckless operations, speeding and displaying of license plates.

The officer noted the man had two prior reckless operation citations earlier this year.

Drunken driving, Ridge Road: On Oct. 26, police observed a weaving 2015 Chevy with expired plates go through a stoplight turning right from Ridge Road to Albion Road.

The officer said the speeding Chevy, which was traveling 40 mph in a 35-mph zone, nearly hit a few curbs before being pulled over on State Road.

While talking to the Broadview Heights driver, the officer smelled booze.

Asked about the odor, the man stated, “I don’t drink.”

After refusing a field sobriety test, the driver was arrested for drunken driving.

During a search of the Chevy, police found an opened bottle of whiskey.

The driver was also cited for weaving, not obeying traffic devices, driving in marked lanes and expired plates.

Also, the officer noted the man had a 2015 OVI conviction.
