Security camera catches man stealing key fob at car dealership: Brunswick Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK, Ohio

Theft, Pearl Road

A Medina man was arrested in connection with thefts from a vehicle at the KDK Auto dealership June 26. A dealership employee reported he was moving vehicles on the lot prior to the dealership closing for the day and was unable to find a key fob for a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. While moving the vehicles, the man said he recalled a suspicious gold Jeep Cherokee driving through the lot. Security camera footage reportedly showed the man exiting the Cherokee, opening the door to the Tahoe and taking the fob before leaving in the Cherokee southbound on Pearl Rd.

Obstruction, El Dorado Boulevard

A driver pulled into a driveway and fled into the residence during an attempted traffic stop at 1:59 a.m. June 28. The driver was reportedly uncooperative and refused to leave the residence before being arrested for speeding and obstructing official business. His car was also towed for investigative purposes.

Theft, Center Road

A woman was arrested at 4:10 p.m. June 25 for stealing $48 worth of various merchandise from Meijer. She was additionally cited for driving under suspension and driving with no operator’s license.

Theft, Center Road

A Dublin, Ohio man reported using his debit card to purchase gas at the Brunswick Sheetz store June 10 and noticed more than $2,200 worth of recurring charges at the store in the days following the transaction.

Impaired driver, Salem Lane

Police investigating a suspicious vehicle call at 3:54 a.m. June 26 found a Strongsville man passed out in the front seat of his car and under the influence of alcohol. The man was reportedly in possession of marijuana, a marijuana pipe and an opened container of alcohol. He refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested for physical control of a vehicle while impaired, drug paraphernalia possession and open container.
